College of Sciences Presents Award to Chemistry Faculty
Atlanta (April 30, 2009) — Prof. Thomas Orlando was presented the first award to a faculty member in the College of Sciences who “encourages diversity for faculty".
This is the first year for this award. The award was initiated by Wing Li, ADVANCE Professor for the College of Sciences, and sponsored, in part, by Dean Paul Houston. Thom was awarded a plaque and the School is awarded some funding to be used by the present Chair.
Prof. Thom Orlando was Chair of the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry from 2003 - 2008 and is currently the Associate Dean of Energy Research in the College of Sciences.
