B.S. in Biochemistry::International Plan
The BS in Chemistry (International Plan) and BS in Biochemistry (International
Plan) are offered to undergraduate students seeking to understand his/her
major in a global perspective. Students in this program must demonstrate
proficiency in a foreign language; complete coursework in a country/regional
elective, international relations, and global economics; and participate
study/research/abroad experience (usually in the junior year). While abroad,
students are required to complete in a supervised research experience
with a faculty member in chemistry and biochemistry at the host institution.
Upon successful completion of degree requirements for the international
plan, a "International Plan" designator is indicated on the

*BIOLOGY ELECTIVES
Two of the three biology electives must be BIOL 2344, 3340, OR 4668. The
remaining biology elective must be one of the following: BIOL 3380, 4015,
4340, 4401, 4418, 4440, 4464, 4570, 4608.
Note:
Students must complete the language requirement in a single language.
The Institute humanities requirement is fulfilled by ENGL 1101, 1102,
Language I, Language II. Students that are certified professionally competent
in a language other than English and not required to take 12 credits of
language must complete 6 credits of Institute-approved humanities coursework
and 6 credits of free electives. Social science requirements are fulfilled
by Institute-approved country/regional elective courses, global economics
elective courses, international relations elective courses, and United
States and Georgia history/constitution courses.
