Minutes Meeting 3/25/08
We mainly talked about the upcoming elections, had nominations and mentioned
our upcoming events.
NEW OFFICERS!!!!
We talked about the responsibilities of all the officers including; president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, social chair, community service chair, webmaster (new position for following year). Will be sent in another email shortly. You can still nominate other people for office or yourself by emailing Ignacio at i.becerra@gatech.edu .

Upcoming Events:
April 4 2008 – March to College, inner city youth, will be doing
a chemistry lab, people who volunteer will get a FREE SHIRT. Contact Emily
April 8th, Dinner with Dr. Lieberman at Tin Drum. 7:30PM
Wed April 9th, Baseball game against UGA hotdogs are on US. Game starts at 7:00 PM and should last 2-3 hours. Contact Mary for more info.
April 18, 2008 – Earth Day, 10AM - 2PM, on Skiles…..Contact Emily(Emily Nicholson <gth687r@mail.gatech.edu>). You don’t have to be there the entire time. We could use you for as much or as little time as possible, but a half hour to an hour would be ideal.
April 19th, Hike with Dr. Powers get to see the outdoors before the torment of Dead Week. More details to come from Mary
Spring Picnic April 22nd, ALL FREE 11AM-2PM, we need people to help set up and clean up.
Midnight Breakfast - date to be determined but usually the Tuesday of finals week is the date...
Also we asked the SAACS group if they wanted to create study groups for finals and have food as well. More info to come.

Minutes 3/11/08
Talked about Undergraduate committee meeting Friday. If you have any suggestions to improve the chemistry/biochemistry classes or environment, please send Ignacio (i.becerra@gatech.edu) an email by Thursday night.
April 8th, Dinner with Dr. Lieberman at Tin Drum Café, should
prove to be yet another fun night.
Did you like the Basketball game well, back by popular demand is the sporting
event get together, BASEBALL Wednesday April 9th @ 7:00 HOTDOGS on US.

We are planning to get into study groups for finals (with food) so be on the lookout.

great time getting to know him.
Last week we went to the Gwinnett county science fair.

Minutes January 22, 2008
- We had a great turnout for Bowling with the profs. good turnout and lots of fun. Check out the Facebook pictures!
- Dinner with Dr. France: we have decided to go to Ribs and Blues at Tech Square on Tuesday Jan. 29th at 7:30. Trying to get the Dinner paid for but its still in the works. Email India Mayo, if you want to attend india@gatech.edu or join the facebook group.
ACS local meeting, “Chocolate: Food of the gods” on Monday, February 4th 2008 at 6:30, dinner at 7:00. Graduating seniors pay NOTHING. Students $15.00 Email if you are interested in going: Mary the Wowie at mattawhat@gmail.com
- We need some people to help with the Gwinnett Science Fair on Feb 16th, get there by 10-11, should be over by 2:00. We are going to be doing fun little experiments including Flame tests, silver plating, and silly putty.
- Basketball Tech vs. Canes Feb 17th. Contact "Mary the Wowie on facebook for an invite to the event.
- MARK YOUR CALENDARS!! Dead week “hot-dog fun,” sponsored by the GSF going to be the Tuesday of dead week, starting at 11:00, be there about 10:00 to help set up. Along with many other activities including fundraising. We need people to help out as the grad students are financially supporting this event as long as we help set up and clean up.

Bowling next Tuesday Jan 15, 7:15….. all you have to pay is for shoe rental
($2.00). There will be free food as well. Sign up by joining the Facebook group
so we can get a rough head count for bowling (look up/add Mary the
Wowie as your friend and ask her to invite you. Ask her directly for specific
questions at: Mattimoe,Mary Caitlin" <mary.mattimoe@gatech.edu>.
Basketball game Tech vs. Miami - Sunday Feb. 17th, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. We
will make a facebook event later.
Make sure to invite your chem/biochem friends to these events as well!
Hiking trip with Dr. Powers, he is willing to take some people hiking and
bonding
Pool party: Dr. Beckham has volunteered her place as well as India. We are
looking at doing it in late March or early April.
Spring Picnic - in the last couple of weeks in April.
Earth Day - Usually sometime around March. Emily Nicholson will provide details
further down the road.
Tech beautification day - Emily will also be helping out with this as well, with
more details later.
Next meeting Jan 22nd. If you have done research please bring ideas and be
prepared to talk about your experiences.
